My brother gave me this bike plate today...don't know the year....the mounting band has numbers stamped into it also.
Got my answer from the Throbbing Brain of the internet. Apparently, this plate is from Sweden! Thanks internet!
Latest arrival at the house. Really like the color combination. The wife thinks I might have a problem with license plates. She might be right.
Traded some plates with a friend in New York. This is what I got out of the deal. Too many plates for the usual picture on the table. Had to lay them out on the floor. The undated Vermont plate is from 1918!
@pigIRON63 I remember Tennessee being shaped a little bit differently than that! But if anyone can bring that back from the dead, I believe that you can. You do some amazing work.
Here’s a set of California plates I inherited from my dad when he passed away several years ago. I still haven’t gotten around to hanging them up in my garage yet.
A guy reached out to me about the 1935 OK MC tag . He lives at Tulsa and has a restored 1935 Indian Chief . We made a agreement and I shipped Him the tag . He had a need for it I have had the tag for 20 plus years and its been in a desk drawer most of that time until I hung it up a year ago. It was a difficult decision but seeing the tag on his motorcycle I’m glad I sold it to him . I tried to buy a 69 MC tag off a guy once for My FLH . He had a wall covered with MC tags . Nope he wouldnt part with it. Then I heard he closed his shop and sold all his tags .
Just picked this one up for my 57 wagon. Need to get it restored and go to dmv and get it attached to the car. Still looking for 1930 wa plate, anyone have one to spare? mike
Well fellas, it seems to be a reoccurring problem for me. I get really caught up in collecting plates. I try to steer away from it but I end up back at " I'll just get ONE more". Next thing I know, I've been bit by the bug again and .....we're off to the races. I spend hours thinking about my next plate, where is it coming from? What's it gonna be? Where will I find it? Then, I find it. I get it home and let find it's place on my wall. I sit back and enjoy it. The next morning I wake up and it's Groundhog Day. It starts all over again. Does anyone else have this problem? Any way, here's what I've came home with this past week.
More today. The top one was in bad shape. A fellow in the next town over "fixed" it. It's kinda just slopped together. I got it as part of a trade. Not much to look at up close, but it displays ok on the wall...... at the top........, in the corner,......... and behind the oilcans....., lol. The 2nd pic is a " before"of the top plate.
