I have the rare opportunity to buy a classic old dodge truck. The seller has 2 and I can choose which one...

I dont know a lot about old Dodges but would love to see what some of you wiser folks would choose and why.....

The choices are: (and they are in basically the same all original condition)

1937 Dodge MC 1/2 ton pickup

    or

1949 Dodge B series (pilot house) Pickup 1/2 ton.

Let's just say that the price is the same just to take that out of the equation..
Looks wise I like them both in their own ways... partial to the 37, but any insight would be greatly appreciated...

    let r rip! Thanks

The 37 hands down. Those are good looking trucks all around.

If you were buying it for me, you'd buy the 37. But you're not.

1937 hands down!! Those 1949 ones look like they got whacked in the face repeatedly with the ugly stick!

1937 in my opinion, but the other has potential if you put the time in her, but right off the line, the 37 all the way...

37 all the way. Love the old stuff. Either way it's tough to find any parts for these old Mopars.

I've had both, a'37 Plymouth PT50 truck, and a '53 Dodge B4C. The '37 is way more car-like and prettier, I think. The '53 was all truck, but really cool in it's own way.

I am new here, but I am a Mopar girl all the way...I have an un-restored 50 dodge P/U. I say go for the 37...It will be harder to get parts to restore (if that is your plan) but much more unique. there are few out there. go for it and enjoy!

  20. I'd go for the '49, but I am biased . . .

  21. Based on the replies so far...
if you want what everyone else desires, build the 37.
If you want to be different, build the 49.

Either way, it all comes down to what appeals to you. Or do like I do and let my little kids pick between 2 choices. :)

same condition and same price the 37 would be worth more.

    much more stylish as well.

    I say buy them both.

The 37 in my oppinion would be a better investment,(shouldn't be talking about cars/trucks and investments in the same sentence) the 49 is still quite plentiful.

I've already got a 50 Dodge truck 49 & 50 are almost the same truck, I'd need the 37 to add more depth to my collection.

I think you should by the 49, and PM me the guys name with the 37, so we can rescue both of them......Gene
