Old Mopar Guys! A few ???'s

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by desertratrodder, Mar 16, 2004.

  1. I am looking at a 34 PFXX frame and running gear for a prospect to stick under the 33 (or 32 as one guy told me) Chrysler 4dr body.
I know absolutely nothing about these cars, and mine is not complete.
His frame is for a 108" wheelbase, and has all the front and rear suspension.
I have no front clip for the car, so wheelbase isnt an issue I dont think, I need some dimensions for the 4dr cars to see if my body will fit, with mods to the frame or the body.
The other question is what hemi is the small one? I can get some late-mid 50's ones. He might take one in trade..
    Thanks in advance!!!

I'm like you, I don't know much about these. Try www.dodgebrothersclub.org for specs on the frame. I think that was the site I seen specs on. Your chrysler looks to be in pretty good shape. Here's a list of old style Hemi's.
    Chrysler-301,331,354,392
    Desoto-276,291,330,341,345
    Dodge-241,260,270,315,325

  3. Is this body like yours? Didn't know what it was. It has a lot of wood and those big cowl vents and split windshield.
This one has suicide doors front and rear.

  4. Dan, its pretty close. I wish my car had dual suicide doors. Can you get the front doors and center pillars off that one?
The body on my car is pretty solid, it will get a new floor when it gets channeled.
The pisser is this dude had the PFXX frame with all the stock rolling gear on ebay, it didnt meet reserve, so he wanted 600 for all. Deal done, then a guy wants to trade him a hemi. I can get one or two,
I can modify this frame he has to fit my car, I just need to know if its not worth messing with.

  5. This one's at the same location. Is it another Chrysler?
I don't remember if it had a split windshield or not. But it does have the suicide doors again.

Dan, where are those 4dr sedans located? Are they there in Texas? I am in Chicago and looking for something like one of those.

  7. Yep, they're not far from here ( Lubbock ). I stumbled across a whole yard of stuff like that. I located the owner and spoke to him on the phone but didn't go back to check the rest and get prices. I know he's not giving them away- he told me he had a 30-31 Model A coupe body for 1500. Some of the cars are half buried in blown sand. I'll post a couple more pictures.

I think the technical term for a place like this is "goldmine"...
