I just picked up this old electric car. The only markings I can find on it is the word Jet. Has anyone ever seen one of these before? They may have been built in Memphis TN, but I can't say for sure.

Pics are to big. I'll fix them and add them in a minute.

I changed the title a bit to make it more clear.

Wouldn't be to hard to make a bubble top for it.

Well it is not one of the following
Powercar, Conval, Trimex, Donalson or Robel but I suspect it might be by Pretzel amusements?
The antenna on the trunk makes me think it was a bumper car or track car at an amusment park. Note the anenna on the back of this 57 T-bird, It was used to kill the cars when the ride was over. I suspect that your car had bumpers like these also at one time?

I have been dealing with powered promotionals for a number of years but have not seen that one before. It has the same style as a Trimex car but is much bigger

Click the www.jrcentral.com link below to see other powered kiddie cars!

I pulled the body of tonite, but it was to dark to get any good pics of the motor and frame. I'll try to get some tommorow.

There was an amusement park at Buckeye Lake Ohio when I was a kid that had a kiddie ride with cars exactly like that. I have some old haome movies of them. Might be able to get you a quick-time clip of them.

    That would be sweet.

    Thanks

  16. Roadkill, those are some very cool little cars on your web site. I especialy like the tiny divco milk truck. Imagin the looks you would get from cruising the fair grounds at a G.G.'s event in that mini Fury or the jr. Desoto.:D
The mystery jet car would look really sharp with some 50's style 2-tone paint and baby www tires

  17. kickstart , I almost forgot, some spinners on the hubcaps!

  18. There was a Muntz Jet built in the 50,s.Odd off brand car.....

My nephew is 6' 4" tall that used to drive it for me before I sold it

And after 20 years of looking I have found a Desoto Firemite ( there are only 5 known left in exsistance)

Did you get that one out of Texas?

If not, I know where another one is, that looks EXACTLY like that, detail for detail. It was in the back of a ~46ish Ford pickup that my dad's boss had bought, I guess it came with the truck.

I'm still looking for more info on the car, or even another picture of one. The only info I have gotten is on here.

    Thanks for any help.
