Hello all, Just joined after years of being out of hot rods. Grew up in Pasadena, CA, remember hot rods since the early 50s (Dave Mitchell's red 29 roadster pickup was a favorite). Built a 30 Ford roadster in high school with a 324 Olds, then a 40 Ford tudor with a Pontiac, then a 34 Ford sedan delivery (265 Chev with a hydro), then went drag racing with a used Chassis Research and a 296" Ardun, then, in one of the worst trades of my life, traded Ardun for Desoto parts, build a B/FD with Bob Kielty (Doug Robinson chassis), and blew most of it up. Then built the first "Panic" Fuel altered with Don Wilson (Les Hawkins built the chassis), and, like most early fuel guys, went broke and sold out to Gary Hazen. Left the sport, became a college professor (specialize in the Middle East) and did not get in until I noticed my backyard neighbor grinding a Model A frame, which would become a chopped and channeled '29 2-door sedan. I am really impressed by the knowledge of all things hot rod and custom from the members, and the dedication to keeping the past alive. It is good to be here. Dave Sorenson
