Good turn out for a first time show with some really outstanding cars. Hopefully, this will continue as an annual event. Spread the word next year will be even bigger.

The weather was great. First cool(er) day with low humidity in a long while and I thouroughly enjoyed driving over for the show. Good to see some folks I know and to meet some new.

ZMAN shot most of the same cars that I got, I swear I wasn't following him around.

The Old North State Rod & Custom Invitational was a killer show, especially for its debut year. The organizers, Chris and Chris (@theoriginalmayday & @graceandcoparts) got it right. There weren't a ton of cars in attendance, maybe 50 in total, but the quality, consistency, authenticity and soul of all the cars present was top notch. I'm sure this event will double in size next year – and that will be good for a lot of reasons – but I think it's mostly because the south east has desperately needed a car show with the restraint and purity that this little show delivered – in spades. Thank you sincerely Chris and Chris for tackling this huge undertaking. Respect.

Beyond the efforts of the Chrises, this show would not have been what it was without the organizational and promotional efforts of three p***ionate and committed south east car clubs – the Iron Lords, the Road Pilots and the Sock ****ers. These guys worked hard to get the word out, promote the show and organize the tactical details that come with wrangling a bunch of hoods. Again, Respect.

And I would be a complete tool if I didn't thank Studebaker Matt (@hurly50) and his lovely wife Alicia for hosting the after show reception at their beautiful property. The barbeque, slaw and sides were delicious! While we were there, the sun was setting, so the light was perfect for some great photos. And the weathered red barns and rolling hills created the prefect backdrop for some amazing cars. The photos on IG of the cars that made it out to the Hurley compound are AWESOME. Thank you Matt, I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with you and Mrs. Hurley. More Respect.

And finally, for me the most notable thing about this show was getting to meet so many like-minded folks and put faces with the names and online personas. I'm more active on IG these days, so I don't really know HAMB handles, but to all you guys I met and had the pleasure of hanging with, you made the trip a memory for me. I don't want to list names here because I fear I will leave someone out, but Gobs of Respect to all of you, nonetheless.

I could not have said it better Dave. A killer show. I dont think I have ever been to a show where I dug every car there before. This show was off the charts with the killer rides and people that just get it.

And you just dont meet people like Studebaker Matt Hurley and his wife often. Unbelievable time at there home and really topped the whole experience off. This trip was the best show ive been to in a long time. And as long as they are having it, im going to be there.

Agreed Chris and Chris did a wonderful job with this event! The fact that they took the time to send invites out in the mail was top notch. Count me in for next year! unnamed1.jpg

I have wondered if this show was going to happen again. This is the first news I have seen or heard.
