My 1949 Chevy truck was painted before I bought it so it must be at least 12-14 years old. I don't know what kind of paint it was either. Now I am starting to get a rash of little white dots or specks in places on the paint. These are smooth and you cannot feel them if your run your finger along. I guess the best description of it is if you can recall those photos of the milky way with lots of little stars. That is how it looks. Over the years I have washed and waxed the truck. Any idea of the cause would be welcomed. I am thinking of repainting but I want that problem figured out before I go for it. Thanks.
specks under the paint. as you wash and wax you wear paint away. if there where specks when painted they show up later
if you want to just keep it looking ok for awhile without having to repaint then try some colored wax, if your truck is really nice then maybe not, i like it and have used it many times on old vehicles, not easy to put on.
