Old Photos, scanner, Photobucket, Historical Derby Downs, Akron Ohio 1958!

  1. [IMG]Here is a bunch of old pictures I got from the original builder of my car. He said he took them in 58 at Akron's Derby Downs. I think all the b&w pictures were taken the same day/weekend? They seem to have the same date on the back. When visiting him in the spring and learning all about the history of my car, he pulled out this pile of pictures and handed them to me. First I looked at all the original pictures of my car. I had the scan he had emailed me (I posted them on the hamb---http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=150665&highlight=Lazy)
but to look at them in the flesh while listening to the stories, it was just awsome. Then he pulled out another pile of black and white pictures that he had taken. I spent more time looking at them while we talked, but I wanted to really study all the pictures, but didnt want to be rude.....so when the evening was over and my wife and I had to leave, he gave me all the pictures! He said that his kids never really saw or were involved with that part of his life, and wouldn't apreaciate them like I would. Thanks again Jim. I finally figured out how to post them correctly on the Hamb, so for your viewing pleasure......

  2. What a great picture. I wondered if these sat for a while beofre he had them developed, because the newest car that I see is a 1953 or 4 Victoria. Love these old pictures. Look at all that old iron. That one roadster looks like it has a Hemi so that would be after 53 I guess.
