  1. This is the last of the pictures I have, I hope you enjoyed them.....[IMG]

  2. My GOD! What is that I see???? A 4 door that has been customized? I guess they did exist back in the day.

All those cool customs and not a single '54 Pontiac grille tells me it was '53 for sure.

  3. Megan, I will contact Jim to find out specifically where the indoor pics were taken...I am pretty sure it was an armory tho.....Don

Don, i just found out my dad has a VHS to DVD ripper. If you'd like it on DVD i'll see if i can use it.

I had no idea you bought a roadster! How awesome is that! Can't wait for the spring so i can see it out on the road. What's the history of that, as in is it all original or did you/previous owner restore it to "original"? that is a thing of beauty.

My dad said they quit racing on the run way because FAA said emergency landing could occur and no time to clear runway.

In regards to megan's post, he said the Goodyear was very large, and probably held car shows. There's a local painter who was very into the rod scene... I need to go see him, I'm sure he's got photos.....

Oh and Mr. Moyer, thanks for the time spent scanning and posting, it's truly appreciated

Hey Don....great pics!!!! Those are real classics!!

By any chance do you have any pics of a car that was called the "Wild Goose" ? Owned by Curly or Whitey La Jouness (sp?) or owned by Curly or Whitey Bowen?? (they are the same person, my dad. when he raced he used La Jouness as his name....long story)

Actually, most people miss the whole area of the downs and rubber bowl. They are kind of off a little access road from either side. You used to be able to follow the Goodyear blimps in and out, but those have pretty much disappeared recently
