Don't know early SoCal track history, but maybe Riverside?

 

I could watch these all day long.

 

I'm pretty sure its the old Saugus race track out by Valencia,Ca. where Magic mtn. is now.
Especially with Jim Rathman in the footage.

I looked up Saugus Speedway, looks like you guys were right, here is an overhead shot, "1950s" is the caption, the hills in the background match those in the video.
