Anyone have any comments or complaints about the Old School Flake gun, I'm thinking about buying one.

Do you have to use a blower to make the flake lay flat in the wet clear, or is that a rumour ?

Better or worse than the conventional method of flake mixed in the clear ?

    Thanks

    TOTAL CRAP!!!!!!!!

It blows the flake out and is very wasteful. You can turn the pressure down, but it will blow like mad when you first pull the trigger and splotch your flake.

Your better off with a 1.7 or 2.0 tip on your gun. I use a 1.7 tip for standard flake.

It sounds like a bunch of crap to me. You'd have to be working at lightning fast speed to make it work. I guess it might work if you're using super slow drying enamel or something.

Their huge flake sucks ass too. It came to me still lumped in pieces...ie; 3,4,5,6 up to 8 flakes still strung together. It hadnt been seperated. I called them and they said they were aware of a batch that was bad but shipped it anyway. I hadnt noticed till after I sprayed it with their crappy flake buster gun. Both the red and silver I bought was bad.

The small flake they sell is fine, but stands up and end once in a while. Still cheaper than HOC.

their 'flake and their pearls suck. i was given a small amount of both and played with a little and threw the rest where it belonged in the trash. there's a few guys that sell bulk flake on ebay that is old boat paint product that is good cheaper flake. for the money house of kolor is hard to beat. METALFLAKE brand is cool to if you find the good old stuff(ebay) esp Globble. now if you wanna talk crazy the guy i get my lincoln buttons from has lots of old dry pearls and even a little CRUSHED GLASS. i would kill to get my hands on some of the glass...ken....
