Yeah man love the old signs. I have my game room the outside of my garage and inside the garage covered with old signs & maybe a gas pump or two.
And yet, something's gone wrong here. I'm not seeing any pictures in your post. Bring 'em on! At least give us a couple shots of your favorites.
Dig the "Mid-Century Modern/FLW Prarie School" building and it's unobtrusive signage. Mucho cool pic!
A closer look at the 7up sign on top of the Portland Bottling Company building. We leave on a 6000 mile road trip this weekend -looking forward to seeing some great signs.
Pretty close! We're driving from Portland, Oregon to Nashville and then back to Portland. The goal is no interstates and no chain restaurants. Hoping for a great trip.
Sounds like a great time. Been to Nashville twice, it's a nice city, and there's some nice roads between there and Clarksville.
Thanks! We're really looking forward to the trip. Last year our big one was around 5000 miles - Portland, Oregon to Tulsa, Oklahoma. We squeezed in a couple 1000+ mile ones this year already. We write a daily road trip blog - if you'd like me to pm you a link let me know. It's usually a mix of old roadside things like signs, drive ins, etc. and historic preservation projects. Jeff
I saw this one today... This once was an exterior wall. The shop has been in the same family since grand dad had this painted in 1923
Some from my collection; These are all current around Central Nevada. The Sandman is on 4rth street in Reno.
Old painted wall sign advertising Wrigley's Gum. Shot from the third floor of the building across the street.
I think these old boys are looking up the street at the two babes walking toward them in the picture below the original post. Followed by cat-calls, wolf-whistles and mumbled suggestive comments and snide remarks.
I always find myself looking for old signs no matter where I am at. It's kindal like looking for old cans, boxes and anything with script on them. Add neon and they shine..
Here's a couple recent estate sale finds and one from the long gone Limestone Drive-In Theater. The rail road cross buck is cast iron (wish I had the other half).
