Metro Diner in Tulsa. The last night before they tore it down. Was a icon on old Route 66 through the heart of Tulsa.
damn thats cool,I remember stoppin in there when I was workin on funny cars in the 70s when rock springs was mostly rocks,no McDonalds or hardly even a fast food place in site...ended up grabbin munchies for the road there.........those cross country trips were a drag but great to look back on now, thanks for the flashback!
Glad to bring back some memories for you! Any idea what it was named in the 1970s? The "Joe's" letters look quite a bit newer than the rest of the sign. Rock Springs seems like it's had quite a few booms and busts over the years. It seems to be booming again with all the mining. Jeff
NO,just remember the sign,If memory sevres me it was really lit up thats how we found the place the story we got was that it is/was a huge railroad town and that all the shacks that used to be up on the hill were whore houses for the train guys,I confirned that back in the early 90s when I was dating a girl that worked at a little harley dealer on the main st. in green river.
Don't know how "old" this one is but it sure is cool. _______________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, its just like OKC, it sucks!"
Some really cool signs on this thread. Did anyone spot the spelling mistake on the Skinny Dicks sign?
Defunct motel for sale in Woodward, Oklahoma. It's currently for sale if anyone is looking for a new career.
John's Modern Cabins. A set of old motor court cabins left to rot away along old Route 66 in Missouri.
