This one is finally back in one piece again. http://www.azcentral.com/community/...ing-lady-neon-sign-finally-restored-mesa.html
as we all of us know that Old is Gold, similarly the old signs has their own value in world. signs are the identity of an organization or firm, just as an example of coca cola sign , it is old enough that even a little child see and tell that this is sign of coca cola.
Old neon is one of the best forms of Americana. It's too bad so many cities are ruining the indiviualalities of businesses with all of the signage regulations. Just like min-malls..Everything looks like a box nowadays..Always great to run across old neon...
Found my Pegasus in an orchard and it was rolled up into a ball by a backhoe. The orchard owner said I could have it so I brought it home, donned my safety goggles and started to unbend it. Got this far and it fit on my garage wall PERFECTLY!
My little back yard hang out is'nt finished yet but had to get some signage up. The porcelain Standard oil sign came off a local gas station. My buddy saved it from a scrap pile and donated to my garage project. The champion pit area sign came from a local 60's dragstrip.
Whiting Brothers. My dad talks about stopping at the Whiting Brothers travelling 66 in the 50's and 60's.
yes, i've been slingin' the brush since 1966, have made every kind of sign imaginable, from neon displays, hiway pylons to showcards and pinstriping. "the sign of a good business is a good sign" mike
Big Mac, that is a great sign, especially if yo have a pool room in the basement. Worth building a house around if not.
^^^^ coool old sign, leave the paint as is , and get some neon on it, or send me a rubbing of it and i'll bend the glass for you. RD
Paint will definitely stay as is. I'm having the neon done (I have a friend that's an old sign guy as well). "Ace" will be green, "Billiards and Snooker" will be orange, and the arrow will be either green or blue, haven't decided. Then I'll build a house around it. lol...
