Went to an open car show yesterday. This thing pulled in and parked next to us. 1960 Olds 9 p***enger wagon, Radir Wheels, wide whites. Not sure on the drive train but this thing is clean. Even has the the foot pads below the rear bumper for climbing in the rear. Only thing I didn’t care for was the clear coat over the patina.

Very Kool car, agree, I'm not a patina fan, But his car, his way. I'm a Wisconsin guy and no patina here, every thing rusts away if it's been driven. I'm sure there are cars that survived to develop patina sitting in garages before the 50's ? as I started driving in 64 and the plow/salt trucks were out in full force, today you can drive in salt storms when driving after it snows. We've had the worst snow/road conditions I've seen in my 34 the years in St Germain due the freezing rain, wet snow and then bitter cold, -20 as I type this, they finally started sanding, and most roads are much better, down to the pavement.

Being from eastern WA state I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore.

had a buddy of mine tell me that patina is like an old man with wrinkles

RUST, UGH  Not my cup of tea, I met a man in 76 or so that had purchased a new 69 Camaro convertible Indianapolis 500 Pace Car (Z11 RPO). His business performed a service for my shop, saw him often for 20 +years, he's a car guy. In later years he asked if I was interested as he decided to sell rather than restore. We took a ride to where he stored it for years and WOW, what a definition of mint original survivor, TOTAL Rusted out POS, he never mentioned he drove it for 3 years as a daily driver. then he stored it. He told me he was offered 25 K , Could I top that. I p***ed. IMO it was a cowl tag car, that's valuable, you can buy every piece and panel and produce a complete 69 camaro and with cowl factory ID with the #'s matching drive line it becomes a very high buck car $$$. Sorta like my 29 Highboy and my 32 3 window, gl*** cars, after market frames, modern engine, suspensions, drive lines, etc. with good ***les using Ford ID #'s. Give me a break, I agree ! steel is real, that's why they are more valuable, my 51 Merc was Steel. The men on here that build steel 32's and other cars, trucks, I have Much respect for them, I have followed several threads through the years, Kool stuff here on the HAMB,
