Well that was fun. I saw a pic of the Ol' Man in the background of one of the cow palace pics. I forgot he ever looked that young.

Thanks....really brought back some memories. Forgot just how "over the top" some of those customs and hot rods were back then. I am (and was) a traditionalist and just didn't care for the garishness of some of that stuff. But, that's what the car show had become...more's the pity.

Slides of the drags at Carlsbad were excellent.

These slides were found by a fellow slot car enthusiast. He did a great job with the slideshow. Yes, it was an awsome find, and it's good to know they have been preserved!!

Back when the boats were wood and the men where steel, and women who could cook would......and chrome was cheap!
