I scored a '40 box for my r-p/u from a guy "updating" to IFS. I took it apart and the worm gear looks brand new (it had a sticker on the shaft that makes me think it's of modern manufacture). I'm looking for instructions on taking out the play and shimming it correctly. Any weird tricks here? Thanks.

Dave - Are you going to use the 40 box as inteneded for cross steering or turn it on its side and use a draglink?

Either way, I would be interested in how you mount it. I was going to turn one on its side, but decided to go with F-1 instead.

I am glad Tim finally met up with you. Maybe we can get together the next time we are up that way.
