No,not my clothes-with so many threads started each day,how many of you look back and answer old ones? How far back? Some forums bring the threads forward when there is a new reply,am I missing a feature here,or do I just keep looking? Thanks. ---bil
This forum brings threads to the top when they are replied to. Still, if you ask a question and it doesn't get answerd it is worth a few bumps as often it is off the 1st page before you are done typing it.
What you do is click the name of whoever wrote or responded to the thread you are interested in, and click "view public profile". Then click on "find all post by______" or "find all threads by______" and all their threads/responses will pop up. I usually log on and search my own profile to see if anything new has come up in threads I have posted in or written. If you are gone for a while, three or four pages will pile up per day.
And, you can subscribe to threads that you started, posted in, and are interested in. Then, you can click "Manage Your Account" and check your subscribed threads.
When you use the "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread to do this, there is an option for an e-mail notification to be sent to you when there is a new post to the thread.
Yep, and I've tried that and now use "No email notification". And then sometimes I gotta go back to "List Subscriptions" when I feel I've missed something because it got stale.
Yeah, a hot thread will fill up your "in box". Start a "fake patina Boyd Rat Rod" thread and make sure you put on the e-mail notification.
Go up to the Quick Links bar (red) at the top and click on it. Then click on Subscribed Threads. That'll take you to a constantly updated list. Any time you post a thread or respond to one it goes on the Subcribed List.
A couple more thoughts: 1. Scroll over the titles of the threads on the main page to get the first line and see if it's worth a read. 2. Keep the questions in the "questions and suggestions" page to keep the normal forum a little more clear.
