Amen, Carl. Everybody seems to wish at some time for a TIME MACHINE, so they could at least go back for a DAY and live anew the times that passed on by long ago.

It's probably what I really like about the HAMB. If you can't go BACK, the next best thing is reminiscing, kicking things around like-minded, tough (but SENTIMENTAL!) people!!!

SO! On that note, how about a "WHAT IS IT?" quiz, folks?

Supposedly a '55 President speedster in Mississippi. Side trim seems
to affirm, but the hood looks to me like a Hawk hood. Bit of a custom???

Well, maybe the mystery is settled. Looked one pic farther,
and here's a '62 or '63 Stude Hawk, minus its nose!

I found this picture of a '34 Ford Cabriolet in the HAMB "For Sale" section. Thought it kind of fit this thread.

Hey there, Jimmy! GOOD find, man! I'll bet some guys
& gals will be interested in this one -- AND the coupe in
the background, too! How-da they find it? Is it listed as
'34 Ford cabriolet? And I am always interested as to
what state or province a car was found in. Any info there?
Thanks, vigilant dude. I have enough projects myself, but
I'll bet lots of HAMBers would love to go haul either of
    those cars onto a trailer.

MORE bass-ass Dodge fins here. A '56 Coronet four-door hardtop
    and a Custom Royal 2DH.

Thanks for asking, 56Royal. One thing I always hope to do is hook guys & gals up with project & parts cars. I'll go check the specifics and get back to you with locations, as these were both on eBay in real junkyards, AND for sale. I remember the Custom Royal in in SoCal, and I thin the Coronet is up in Montana. Again, I'll try & nail it down for you, my fellow HAMBer! Thanks agian for asking.

The Royal is in Los Gatos, CA, and the seller posted an update that it's the ultra-rare Dodge LaFemme and has an eight, not the flatty, as previously stated. It has two days left on the auction, so go check out eBay, if interested in contacting the seller on that. I'm not gonna be a middle man for cars, as I don't know that it would fit HAMB regs. But I can point you in the right direction, I think. All you have to do is go on eBay & punch in "1956 56 Dodge parts car" & they'll be the first two cars to appear.

The '56 Coronet is near Whitehall, MT, and has nearly 5 days to go. Just look for it the same way I mentioned above, bro. Good luck. Looks like BOTH cars could be a help to HAMBers. Rare cars don't get much rarer than that LaFemme. PINK was an IN color in the mid-'50s!!! LOL

    This car was posted in the HAMB "For Sale" section by Rusty New Yorker for the sum of $2000.00. The ad read;

This car sat upside down in a dump, there's a good frame and about 2/3 of a body shell, some top bows, one door, and some other pieces here. Most of the floors and sub rails are in decent shape and the frame has no obvious rot issues. Might be able to cut some patches out of what's left of the fenders, too. Find another one that sat on the passenger side, throw in some re pop quarters, and you've got a car. No motor, trans, suspension, hood, grille, left A-post or left door.

The car is a Cabriolet; a convertible coupe with roll up windows

Jimi; It's a 1928 Fiat but I have this feeling that you already knew that.

Yeah, but I thought it was just odd enough to be challenging. Even though it's not a U.S. make, I also thought osme younger folks might be surprised to find that Fiat goes WAY back!

Can't disagree with that. I actually had some help from the folks over at the AACA forum identifying it cause I didn't know what it was either.

Hiya, Jim-Bo! I don't care how Packard wound up. In the early '50s, they were an organization that still conducted all ops with CLASS. EVEN a Packard junked still has the "IT" factor!

I just wish they hadn't been lured into the Studebaker merger, as I believe, Packard would have survived at least as long as Nash/Hudson/AMC.

At the very least, there seems to be a poetic justice of sorts in cast-off things continuing to serve good purposes. At sea, once-proud ships, buses and rail cars create artificial reefs to benefit wildlife. Here, no longer shiny and new, Detroit's finest now prevent creek bank erosion. The rubber, glass, iron and copper that went into these cars came from Mother Earth and, fittingly, all those elements are returning to their source. Here is a picture of a mid '30s Packard dated July 1971. Not sure if it's a '35, '36, or '37. Don't recall where I took the photo but it was obviously winter time.

I love these shots from Temple's in S.C. HAMBer ChevSotoLac

Hey, what's this long-roof Cad back there?!? Doesn't look long enough to be
a hearse, does it? And I didn't think Caddy was in the station wagon market. (?)

'59, the last real DeSoto. After that, they were made all
on Dodge assembly lines, mostly of Dodge parts.

I don't know why that happens. Formatting at the source, I suppose. So I'll try & post a different shot, okay?

Kinda reminds ya of some drinking buddies,
the next morning after a rough night, eh?

Now here is an instant classic oldie shot. I wish I know the photographers's name and not just his/her web address, as I think he/she deserves an award for the great composition and use of light. This really captures the stark and lonely fate of a faithful old workhorse, now retired and in the hands of Mother Nature.

This was located at www.pixdaus.comand I sincerely thank the photographer
for a look at this nostalgic early automotive masterpiece!

Nice thread, Jimi. I ran through and don't think these have been posted. I'll try and scrounge around and get a few more to post.

Nope, Twin6 those haven't been posted before. I could eat this kind of stuff up! Embedded, it says "Maine Deep Woods." By chance was this Bishop's, north of Bangor, before they crushed it all out???

And since I've got people's attention a sec, your new thread really caught on with HAMB guys and dolls, buddy! So, anybody who hasn't spent some time on this PRE-WWII NOSTALGIC-PIX thread, do yourself a favor & go check it out! You'll be glad you did: Photos taken before WW2 - history in black and white.

Thanks for the kind words, Jimi. Lookie here: even British stuff ended up in the junkyard. I have a hunch this one probably got rescued.
