Sheesh, Frankie, this is ANOTHER one where it looks like Mother Nature
is just RECLAIMING the base elements of the cars! Pretty cool shot
(though, you're right, some others are just shitty!). All in ALL, that is
    one MAJOR-ass, cool site!

Frankie, I dig close-up detail shots and medium shots. But I
LOVE these big "establishing" shots. Ya don't SEE many like
this, both showing true OLDIES AND in COLOR! Nice pic, thanks.
Any idea where this was taken?

HAMBer Dave (screen handle "Pontiac") shot these early Nov. '09 at a BIG
yard in southern West Virginia. SEE his BIG photo tour on his thread, "WV
Junkyard trip, pics." Well worth your time!!! He's made a return trip, SO,
his vistual tour NOW has over 400 pics. WOW!

Mako4R, I have studied and thought with my magnifying glass, too. And I think what the hand-painted sign says is (pretty close, anyway):

"Don't junk your car(s) on my land" (part of last word covered by a fender)

From the latest model year I can see, it seems to me this pic was shot in the mid- to late-1930s. THAT was a time when laws weren't yet on the books much to punish people for simply ABANDONING an old car, any ol' place that was convenient. Before that car got on top of that stack, it had apparently sat in a prominent spot out front of some fave dumping spot.

When you look at this great, old pic, there are fully FOURTEEN PEOPLE in the frame!!! I can only speculate. But my guess is that something was "up." Maybe people locally had complained, and authorities had begun stacking up abandoned cars, in prep for removing them from the site. WHATEVER the matter was, it was surely attracting public attention, boys had ridden out there on their bikes. You know, "small-town life." If there was a buzz, bored folks would FLOCK to whereever anything was happening! GREAT OLD PIC!

Mako4R, I take it, the photo you have is a BIG old photo print, right? If so, what are the measurements? 11" X 14" ???

Here are a few more. That was my buddy Louie in the previous post and in this one. He is blind and we are on a mission to save as many vintage cars as possible. This T was found when we went to look at a '70 Mustang. I later had the original owner's son tell me he rode in the back of the 1926 T when he was a kid. I cut the car in half to get it off the tree. Sold the front and gave the back half to a fellow HAMB member. I want the Buick but no money or space.

KopperKart! Hey, man! The pic of the T-Touring is an instant classic. I am glad you shot this, before you cut it up to save it. I have a weakness for trees-in-cars shots!!! LOL

God bless you and your friend for saving as much as you can.

Dang! That Wildcat hartop is sweet, and the interior os rpetty good, too!
