All of the years I contracted work for Howe Racing you couldn't help but hear about **** Trickle. When Junior Hanley started racing a Howe Ch***is we went to a few races to watch Junior and a couple of times **** showed up. He didn't win on those occasions with all of the American talent present but he was more compe***ive than you might have thought. I never noticed a lighter in his car but he constantly had a cigarette lit. Sorry to hear of his p***ing this way, it must have made sense to him but those left behind will always wonder, why?

Yes I agree with the "what gets locked down and what doesn't" comments also. Which brings me to the point of weather this topic is traditional or not. **** Trickle was one of the earlier drivers in NASCAR'S early days. My grandfather raced against him in the mid to late 50's in WI and IL. My grandfather raced a '38 Ford tudor for a guy out of South Wayne, WI. He said that **** was a hell of a driver. If that isn't traditional, I don't know what is. R.I.P. ****.

i miss him already. grew up watching him in the 99 car, and yes there was a cigarette lighter installed in dash for those caution flags, he was there to race. alot of track records broken by him on a regular basis. he will be missed! catch you at the next race ****, r.i.p.
