History Old Timers 50's Aluminum Wheel ID need your help

Army Surplus or something left overs ? Anyone who raced back in the day know the origin of these wheel? There is a distinct 4 bolt type of pattern on the wheel assuming something originally mount there ?

Originally I thought Airplane but have yet to find skinny wheels on anything short of aWW1 plane.

 

They must be really skinny cause I don't see em.

Here you go... I also posted these at the Drag Cars in Motion. They were a Scotty Fenn product. They did not seem to catch on, I have not seen many pictures of them. I know I don't care for them.

I don't know but I like them, looks good on that rail.

 

Here is the book that had a feature on Scotty Fenn. I did my best to scan the article, but I did not want to hurt the binding on this fifty year old book, and some writing is hard to read.
