I'm working on putting a portfolio together so I've got something to show for all my talk. Hopefully someone will take a shot. Butch- thanks for the leads. AJ's rides look pretty sick

I just caught this thread , do as is said knock on doors , with the right attitude you'll eventually get in. We Started Jose this week from our ad on here , great guy , enthusiastic, natural talent & wants to work here. Knows old style rods & is on his 2nd build a pre 1937 style 29 Ford Roadster , he's 23!!! The same attitude I had when I moved from England in 1988 ," give me a job & I'll do it" :)

    Good Luck

That's inspiring. I'm going through and compiling a list of every shop I can find, anywhere in America. One of them has to work out, right?

  7. Actually aside from giving you a good teasing and the minor drama that ensued most of us do care to see you as well as the other fellas that are struggling make it.

A lot of folks think that whenever one of us from the been around for a while bunch polks fun at someone that there needs to be a social intervention. Really no need, we are all glad to polk a little fun once in awhile, that is a part of our culture that seems to have been lost to Hot Rodding going main stream. One should never take it personal.

If I had something going on you would sure be welcome to come down here and try and learn something. Most of it would be done ass backwards but maybe if you are real sharp you could learn how by learning how not to do it.

Something will pop for ya. Trust me I have been through a hard time or two and can tell you from experience something always does. Keep swinging that hammer something will eventually break.

I am pretty sure that the South Austin Speed Shop is looking for a few good men as well. I think that Joyo is looking for experienced folks but you just never know, he has some pretty sharp folks in there and may just decide it is worth taking someone under his wing. What's it gonna hurt to ask you'll both loose about 5 minutes. John is good folks give him a shot.

Just an update... pounded the pavement and still no dice. I suppose the plan is to keep working at it and hope something comes along. Thanks again for everyone's input.
