We were all kids once and many of us will remain kids at heart for life. A couple of weeks ago I found this while at an estate sale. Cool little slingshot dragster powered by a single AA battery! Let me know if you've ever seen one if these and share your personal finds of you like. Lates!
I think those date to early 1960's and there was also a '32 roadster offered. If my memory is correct, they were sold as very simple kits, snap-together, and were a flexible plastic rather than the normal styrene. Tires were too damn hard, and once I got the wires to stay in place there was nothing but wheelspin on any surface.
I'll have to find a picture of the trucks that I played with in 1952. They are pretty battered now but I'm keeping them. One is a 1946 Ford tow truck with working hook
Neat find. There was (is) a great Hot Rod Toys thread somewhere on the HAMB. Fascinating stuff from our childhoods.
This is the toy that started my future in the collision business when I was knee high to a hub cap. You wind it up, and run it into a wall, and all 4 corners, and the turret all blow apart. Click 'em all back together, and do it again. Wish it were that easy in the real world to repair collisions. This is the small version. The one I had as a kid was MUCH bigger. (or maybe it just seamed that way).
G'day, I have an old Hurly helipoter sitting on the kitchen table. Have some old Hubley trucks from the 50's as well. The are modelled after a 56 GMC I believe. Wish I could figure out how to post pictures. ms
31Dodger... You were lucky ! I had to start all over again 40 years ago...getting 'em all back ! Jonnie www.legends.thewwbc.net
