Old Valve Spring Tool

    Can Any One Give An Idea Of The Age Of This Valve Spring Compressor.
    Thanks For Any And All Help

    It Is A Sunnen Products Co. And Was Made In St.Louis MO.

    interesting. i haven't seen one exactly like it. does it have a very deep throat?

    I would guess 30s with extra deep throat to do inline flatheads without removing the manifolds.

    I have one from the 40's and it has a square frame like the newer ones. 30's would be my guess.

    Still good though, got one out in the shop almost like it I bought at a yard sale for a couple $$ . HF eat your heart out !

    Thank You All For Your Come Back. I've Been A Mechanic For Over 55 Years Now And I Have Never Seen A Valve Spring Tool Like This One. It Came To Us From My Wife's Grandfather After Her Dad Passed.And To Me It Is A Piece Of Art In the Way It Was Made.P.S. I Will Go Along With The 30s.

    That's pretty neat. I suspect it was made to do a variety of heads, hence the deep throat. It looks like it functions a lot like the more modern one I have, but it is much larger and cooler looking.

    Probably will last for another 100 years.
