  1. There seems to be a lot of interest in corvettes on this site lately. If you currently own one post pics please.
Here’s mine. Dad bought it in ‘62, he passed it on to me a few years ago. It’s my fourth one. 06E532BB-63B7-43C8-86A7-0AF52B80EAEB.jpeg 70148BEE-1751-4EFA-BE8F-61DF98FFC012.jpeg B3859511-6099-4F53-B2B5-13E1D8F8A47D.jpeg CDA06CF6-627F-4D06-A1DA-16B979D8E9BE.jpeg

  2. It’s been reworked since Dad had it tho A11BA347-50DA-49E6-9CF6-1F5FD24D3284.jpeg BA190A63-B4BF-47D2-8ED3-9EBCDFF95FD7.jpeg

Here’s mine. 61 with a 1970 LT1 , Manafre 4 carb. 4 speed. 2 inch lowering blocks in back and cut springs up front. 6 tail lights, shaved handles, 58 Buick grille. Pearl white rolled and pleated interior. Soon to be panel striped in white... I really hate the C1 C2 C3 terminology. anyone calls my car by those terms is gettin his ass kicked

Do you want the Vettes to be old or the owners to be old?

I've always liked the front end of the single headlight Vette, and the tail end of the 61-62 Vette. I'd love to see someone put them together and see what the results would be.

Your paint is great. But I'm lazy. Way too much maintenance for me...

I made it out of clear acrylic. Grind sand polish. All by hand. I started with 1 x 2” acrylic and ground and sanded it to football shape and polished it

I just made it so the brackets fit it real snug. All by hand kinda tedious but I think it looks pretty cool

  14. Colin claims his has actually been used by by scared passengers so he should make one from angle iron

  18. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures, but Dad had a 1963 Split Window Coupe. He sold it in 1980 or 81, but I remember riding in it. 327/340, 4 speed. Corvettes are cool, but the only one I’ve ever wanted was a 63 Split Window, I don’t care about numbers matching or what transmission is in it. One day…….

Mine's still in the "some assembly required" stage...

Here’s a pic of my buddies 64 back from the body shop sitting beside my 53 Chrysler and 69 Lincoln

the vette was a burn victim when he got it the roof was pretty much melted into the passenger compartment.
Body shop nailed it and after that Joe went the stereotypical vette numbers matching resto route .

  24. Don't have pics of all them, started with a modified '60 in '68. Had a few shark vettes too, early ones, big blocks.

  25. OH OH OH...I'm a member of the club too! Though, mine is still a project in waiting...and if I'm being totally honest it's currently acting more the part of a "shelf" or "rack"...if you wince into the far corner, peaking out from under the pile of junk, you can almost see the someday dream (in my mind, I can hear it running ;))...sorry about the OT stuff that share the space. 20200128_111813.jpg

Good to see some of the old Vettes. I agree with Moriarty on the C1 stuff. I call them solid axles (the only Corvette club I belong to is the Solid Axle Corvette Club and there is a good mix of stock and modified). The photo of my black car is at the Pie Crust drags a few years ago. I bought this car in 1977 with a 350 that someone put a window in. I replaced it with a new 327/365 from the local Chevrolet dealer. My red car I bought in sad shape in 1982 and it was an old drag car out of New Mexico. Here is the latest picture of the car I suppose. It was at an airport show last fall. The red 59 and black 57 are owned by guys in my car club. The black 57 has a 409 that fits under the stock hood. The 59 is a 355 I believe and my red 62 has a 427. Good memories with these cars.

Yup, there are only three kinds of Corvettes. Solid axles (53-62), mid years (63-67) ,and everything else are "late models" . and while we are at it, the term "split window coupe" when describing a 63 coupe rubs me the wrong way too, every single coupe made in 63 is a split window. They could either be called a 63 coupe or a 63 split window, calling them a 63 split window coupe is redundant.... there rant over ... sorry
