I had a '61 like that, but it wasn't the "fleetside" bed style. That truck was a real stump puller! I traded it on a new Subaru in 1981. It was just too rusty to keep. Holes in every fender...
My paint is only 51 years old, but I hope to save it for now, just because I'm cheap. Not a fan of rust, but I do like survivor patina.
Awesome thread......had more enjoyment going through these pages...than the g.n.r.s.............this just kool :d
Mine is being whored out on another thread right now, but it sure fits the bill for this thread! How about a 50+ year old paint job done with house paint and a roller? Lettering done with a brush, and aged a long long time.... Can't buy patina like this. Well, you can, but you get a free truck with it!
Two of my previous Fords. The 29 Closed cab truck looked like hell, but ran like a top with the original Ford banger. And also my wife's pride, her 31 Coupe. Original paint on the old Coupe. She drove her coupe all over town. It was her soccer mom grocery get'r when we lived in Modesto Ca.
