Hi I am from Norway, but due to my bad health, I bought a house i Bosque county in Texas, to stay some time in the winter months. I have been driving around looking for old cars. And here is some pictures from a local yard.
Whoever owns all this(Joes Salvage?)has got to win the prize for the junkiest junkyard in America!!!!!!!!How did you walk thru all the litter to get these pics?Any one notice the front counter weight on the old AD chev gin pole truck?Nothing better than to chain an old motor on the grille guard..Is the old guy still active and sell parts? Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!
Keerist that is definitely a junkyard!!! I,m sure there is a fortune just waiting for the right guy to come along.I,d be taking orders from the rodders in Norway and taking stuff back home with me! Just might make enough to pay the mortgage and travel time....
Yeah, there is a lot of stuff Here is from a place in Whitney. If you want this guys email or phone number, just PM me. I don't have any contact information for the other yard. Here is from Whitney.
He loves Ranchero's But he is going to move at another place in TX, so I think almost everything is for sale.
I think I poked around a couple of those yards when I lived in McGregor, Tx in the early 70's. It looks likes some of that stuff was sitting in the same spot then.
neat, how do you like Tx? thanks for the pix... here is another junk yard type site that you might find interesting, that is if you haven't already seen it. http://images.google.com/imgres?img...s+in+arkansas&start=60&ndsp=20&hl=en&lr=&sa=N
I bought the house in October and lived in it for only 11 days, so I really looking forward to go back in January. And I love Texas, great people and great weather Its in a small town with only 360 people, but thats great, I don't like big city's that much. Thanks for the link.
First guy wins a prize for concealing his junk with piles of other junk. Yes there are some goodies in the first set of pics, but most of the general household stuff should be scrapped. Keep an eye on this place, don't know the guy but this seems like one of those places that could vanish overnight. High scrap prices, nagging municipalities, failing health and/or family pressure and this place could be cleaned out in 3-4 days. Not a Ford guy but the 2nd place looks neat-o! My wife would never step foot in there with all those Ranchero's, she thinks they are molester cars.
what you non texans dont know .is this stuff is everywhere. just drive off onto any back road and yoll find this stuff. just keep in mind we texans have the right to shoot trespassers
I love old cars and yards, but here in Norway they are either crushed or rusted away So Texas is like heaven
TX is a great place to find the gems, I agree but I found a few in the midwest too...enjoy. Oh...thanks for the post by the way!
