...thanks for the "walk" thru that yard!...what a place!...so much cool junk to look at...it looks like a bomb went off!
ya man, these places are still hiding out there. thanks for pics. esp. watch the backgrounds like this one.
Blows me away that the stuff is still out there, especially at the price scrap is these days.. Old guy + vintage tin + health conditions = crushed steel heading for china
If you look close in one of those pics you can see a dragster in there, and a 6 carb intake, and pie crust slicks, and a little bullshit too.
Thanks for the post/ pic's, keeps me dreaming, up here anything out that long is returning to mother earth, Henry.
I expected to see Philo Beddo (Clint Eastwood) walk out of that house with Clyde and get in that wrecker. Damnit, now I will be humming "any which way but loose" in my head all day.
I wonder why guys with junk piles like the first one always save washing machine tubs? I bet I've taken 50 to the scrapyard over the years from buying piles like that. My 34 Lancia came from Whitney, sure wish I could find the guys who had it to get the missing parts from. They've still got the driveshaft and the VIN plate, which I'd really like to have (I did track them down through a 3rd party and get the engine and transmission but I never was in contact with them).
i think we should all me at joes salvage with trucks and trailers and weed cutters and get those cars out lol
That Ranchero place; did anyone see how rustfree that white 57 ranchero shell was? It looks mint. got parted out, but still worth the trip.
HAHA that fist place is Joe's , My mom went to high school with his son. If you see some '54 chevy 4drs in there. I donated those. The '56 Hdtp is cool, but his prices aren't the cheapest. He's also got more cars on another piece of porperty. I've been wanting to go back and look around more.. There used to be a '59-'60 Elcamino in there, but you have to look very hard cause it it COMPLETELY covered in crap. It looks like it hasn't changed much.
It's a small world, apparently, 38Nash, My mom, Serena helped you find property or something? My dad said she mentioned someone from Norway moved down there and liked old cars.. How many Norwegians are in the Gap anyways? haha
wonder why he feels the need to put the junk on top of the cars? Its like to him the cars are the junk and he doesnt want to see em.
Hi I know I have heard her name , but I have met so many great and helpful people there in a short period of time , so its hard to remember all their names. And you know.Everybody knows the monkey , but the monkey doesn't. I don't think any Norwegian has bought any property around there after year 1900. I love the area , great people , great weather , cheap gas prices and a lot of old cars around What more can a frozen Norwegian viking ask for Its only 50 days before I live home for my next trip, I am looking forward to it , here we have snow any icy roads and the gas price is 6.50$ a gallon Here is a picture of my Tx friends old Ford, it was his first car , he bought it when he was 14 and he still have it.
He will never sell it...... It hasn't been licensed for about 10 years , but he is thinking about modernize it a little bit technical, brakes , steering etc
It is one thing to have all those diamond in the rough sitting out there for us to ogle at, but I wonder if any on the farm/ ranch would be sold? Dreaming on, Henry.
Is there anyone looking for a Viking? It's located in Wyoming where I bought a 1959 3100. The guy is asking (I think) $400 for it.
There is another guy that has a 1959 Chevy truck for sale in Arurora Illinois for $4500 (looks to be ether a 3100 or 3200) The guys e-mail is sale-973825530@craigslist.org The 1958 Viking is at wyomingclassiccars.com page 17. My mistake he is asking $350 for the Viking
Wonderful place. Is there a phone number, email address or street address for this place? Thanks, Specs
