I believe its a 46 Chev, I had a few 47/48 Chevs in my younger times, 1 with a 270 Jimmy in it, lots of torqe, 46 is close, but earlier, possibly a 41. Neat pics.
Its a four door with the rare, not many produced "Helmet" Bodies, I believe they were only produced for 46/48. I dont remember any 41s w/the 3 stainless pieces on all four fenders, cant remember the model but that trim was on all "Fleelines" fastbacks.
[ QUOTE ] 52Chief, The car in the photo is a 1941 Chevrolet. It is probably a coupe due to the slo[pe of the "B" pillar. [/ QUOTE ] Thank you!!

Cool thread! Here's one of my Granpa Smith in Pa. I can't remember what type of car it is. I do know that he has, almost always, bought Pontiacs and Buicks for some reason.

My grandfather took this one (my father thinks it was taken during World War II). It's my great uncle's Chevy Dealership/Sunoco Station, Chepachet Sales & Service in Chepachet RI. The '41 Buick was my grandfather's, and I'm guessing the other car is a '37 Packard (which looks like a roadster judging by the windshield posts). According to family folklore, this was the first Chevy dealership in RI and one of the first in the country. I think he started it in the 1920s and sold it when he retired in 1962. It later was used as a Fiat and Lancia dealer. Now the building is a Pizza and Ice Cream shop (which is an improvement from a Fiat dealer).
TINGLER i am sorry to hear that. I am really close to my grandmother and couldnt imagine losing her. My grandmother has a picture form when she was 4 years old in 1932 of her standing on her nieghbors 31 Model A. She was standing on the running board and her whole head was barely above the the top of the door. It is one of my favorite pictures. -Jim
Nice to read this TINGLER... brings back memories for me as well.... and really MAKIN MEMORIES is what its all about....that shit stays man.....it can get all foggy at times...but there still there and can come back at any time....
Really good thread. Sorry to hear about your Grandma Tingler. My Nan is in a similar condition with dementia, she recognises family sometimes, can't hold a conversation, has muddled up memories & facts, she needs full time care . She has just celebrated her 87th birthday. Here is Nan in the late 1920s she was between 7-9. The car is a '25-'26 Chev tourer which I didn't know about until after I started my '25 Chev.
