First of all, I don't have the capability of posting photos; I wish I did, because it would prove what I'm about to say. Not far from our home is an "automotive" sheet metal shop. This guy makes body panels and other parts BY HAND. I stopped in one day about 2 years ago, and he gave me a short tour of the shop. It's basically 20 pounds of **** crammed in a 5 pound bag. Every nook and cranny are jam packed, and shelves piled high with various parts and pieces. A complete, former drag car, 1940 Willys Coupe inside, along with various other cars/trucks, and a Donovan Hemi just sitting on the floor. I had stopped to look at a 1950 Oldsmobile Sedan Delivery he has parked outside; it's all there, but not in very good shape from sitting outside, but it's one of only EIGHT ever made! They were used in the Oldsmobile plants to delivery small parts, do***ents, and ferry executives around. Yesterday, I stopped to look at a 1957 Ford Custom (the plain Jane, base model-I'm not really up on Fords, but I like this Model 57 Ford); not in very good shape either from sitting outside. But, there was also a 1964 Ford 2 door sedan, with a fibergl*** teardrop hood, and inside the car were the matching fibergl*** fenders; steel fenders were on the car, and there's a manual transmission shifter poking up through the floor. I don't know if this is a legitimate Thunderbolt or not; the shop was closed, so there was no one to talk to. Both of those cars showed up just recently. There's no business name on this shop, and it's only been there for about 3 years, after relocating from the greater Seattle area. Maybe one of the local HAMBERS knows about this shop, and can shed some light on it? I'd like to take a few photos with my phone, but I don't care to get shot doing it, so I'll have to talk to the owner first; maybe later today. So again, does anyone know anything about this shop; it's right next to Boeing, on the other side of Hwy 526, on Casino Rd., in Everett. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Come on Butch, put on a Kevlar vest and get your camera out and snap a few pics for us. Then run like hell.
You say its only been there a few years, after relocating from the Seattle area? Sounds like Rick's shop. Don't recall his last name, but it fits the description. Is it between two curves on Casino Road? I was there several years back when he was just moving into that location, if that's the place I'm thinking it is. We had about half a dozen guys there, as he hosted a 5 day seminar by Peter Tomm***ini. Give Larry a pm, Fordcragar, I think, is his username. They are very good friends. Rick is a hell of a nice guy.
^^^^^ That sounds like the place ^^^^^. The guy did't know me from Adam, but offered to show me his shop. I'd like to see his cars more protected than being outside uncovered, but there is NO room inside. The 1957 Ford Custom and 1964 Ford T-Bolt (clone?) are new additions, and both were obviously stored outside elsewhere for a LONG time. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Only oldy there at the time this pic was taken... this is just an ***umption based on facts given... correct or not so?
There you go, probably a year or two ago, and that is the 1950 Oldsmobile Sedan Delivery, one of only eight ever built, and not made available to the public. When I looked at the delivery, I asked him if $50K would buy it; he said NO. He has quite a bit more stuff, and cars outside now, including an old farm tractor that looks to be in pretty complete and good (painted) condition. Thanks for posting that. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Business name is Walrus Machine. Used to be down in Fremont. Rick is very good family friends with a friend of mine. The man is a gawd damn magician.
For some reason, I thought Walrus Machine was in Ballard, but I see an old address on Leary Way in Fremont (the center of the known universe, the Freeway Troll, and home to the naked bike ride). I'm going to have to stop in again. Thanks guys. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Yeah Butch google maps is good for a first pic but we would like an pic update...Vintage tin is cool. 50k for that sedan delivery...wow...I guess its 1/2 price due to condition... One of 8 however does make it a tad rare of course.
