I'm 66, been a custom and hot rod guy since I was old enough to breath on my own. I grew up in Philadelphia PA and my older brother was a hot rodder before me and got me into modified stock cars and oval track racing at an early age. I live just east of Seattle, been out here since 67, but my tastes are still strongly influenced by me East Coast upbringing in that I love three windows and roadsters channeled, with cycle fenders and unchopped, no fuzzy dice or sun visors, conny kits or other bolt-on's (baby shoes and garters are OK). I also grew up reading Rodding and Re-Styling and Customs Illustrated along with R & C. Gave up on Hot Rod when it went all kart crazy and never went back. Just finished a 53 Merc sedan this week after 5 years. It's running a supped 351W mill and a C-4 with a shift kit and a V-8 Maverick 8" rear and 4 wheel power disc's. The color is metallic pearl dark cherry with a maroon and bone interior.
Welcome, fellow Washingtonian! Great intro. *****in' color on your Merc. Be sure to check out the Old Farts sub-forum for all manner of "pearls of wisdom."
