Hello from the Netherlands! My compliments for this great forum. A lot more great cars and action than in our country. This is the first time I ask a question, please correct me if I'm not in the right section of the forum, I'll try in my best English...... We own a Olds 88 of 1958 for 11 years, it has the stock drum brakes, which I would like to convert to disc brakes, but with the Original 14 inch. wheels. Kits for Olds 58 seem to be a problem........Sites like https://scarebird.com/ often only offer other years than 1958, or without the option to use the stock wheels. What is the best way? I want to make the system a double system ( 2 lines to the rear ) , so looking for disc's, booster, main cylinder en calipers. Regards, Rustyolds
Hi Rustyolds I have a complete Mercury Monarch 1978 front clip for sale complete with stock steel 14"wheels. Good thing for you, i'm in Holland too. Groeten Hennie
Mid 80's Chev S10 pickup rotors and calipers will work with 14 inch wheels. You might have to build your own mounting brackets or modify some aftermarket brackets (eg. scarenird). You can also use the master, booster and proportioning valve from the S10 or similar G M vehicle.
