I need to rebuild my signals. I have the wheel off and I can see the signal cam and the cable that goes down to the switch. My switch is wired correctly and works. Honestly, I think I'm missing some parts and can't figure out to get the damn thing apart to replace parts (even if I could fine replacements). Here's some pics of what I'm working with. What am I missing? The column has "62 starfire" written on it if that matters.
Maybe you need one of these? This is listed as a turn signal switch here - http://www.fusick.com/new_items.htm
There is a diagram for that steering column in either the 61 or 62 Olds service manual. You can download a complete service manual for that vehicle at 'wild about cars' wildaboutcarsonline.com for free. You need to sign up then select "The Library" and follow the links. It's likely in the '61 manual as the '62 manual is basically just a supplement.
Here's part 2. I just got back from a shop here in town that has a lot of olds stuff. I looked through his collection and found a 64 jetfire that had my wheel on it. I didn't think to check the signal part though. The signal plug on mine is a triangle shape like the 63-66 Chevy full size cars, not the stand up kind. So, I think I have a 64 starfire tilt column. Thanks for the link Justin, I'll check it out.
Looks like it but no, recently worked on a 59 Olds (with stock column) that had a turn signal switch like that.
I think I'm just going to throw the wheel back on it and rebuild my '59 wheel and column and throw one of these on the rag joint. http://www.speedtechperformance.com...tegory_id=193/home_id=193/mode=prod/prd81.htm
