Greetings from Oklahoma. RE the title of this thread, I've actually been here for a while, as "Olds215". Had that engine in a '29 A CCPU that I owned for 11 years. (Formerly owned by Jim Markley, another HAMBer who passed away two years ago.) Sold it a coupla weeks ago, and thought I should have a new and more permanent handle. Thus Bluedot, and there's actually a little family story behind that one. Anyway, a HAMB moderator/good friend advised that handles don't get changed, gotta start over. I was still an FNG anyway (see old profile at http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/member.php?u=7985), so nothing really lost. On my new profile, you'll see that I'm working on a '30 Model A coupe, largely inspired by Jimmy White's coupe videos, and Brian Bass's cross country adventure thread here on the HAMB. Jimmy's inspired the build, Brian's inspired trying get mine done in time to drive to B-Ville in Aug 2012 (2600 mile round trip). My coupe will not be as nice as either of theirs, but it will be safe if nothing else. 455 Olds and a Muncie (I gotta have 3 pedals). I should also mention how much I've learned here. Waded through all 16 pages (so far) of Hotrob's fiasco Model A build thread. He claims to be an amateur, but he's way out of my league. The hour twenty I spent reading his thread will save countless days and mistakes on my project. I've been married since 1967 to a nice lady who tolerates my hobby and apparently has no taste in men. We have one son (DuckusCrapus on the HAMB), two grandkids, and a buncha critters.
