    Hey Guys,

Rebuilding a 56 324 Olds and forgot where number one cylinder is on the distributor (doh!). In the original manual it only says that it is towards the front of the motor. Not a lot of help. Any help would be appreciated!!

    Thanks in advance

  2. Don't know if it is the same, but here is my #1 cylinder on my "57" 371 Rocket. This is standing on driver side.

    Good luck.

I know Olds roll ccw, but I thought it was closer to 6 or 7 o'clock.

  5. Ya ever notice the schematic-like view of the distributor where the plug wires are shown in some manuals?

That indicates which wire should cross the other.

Done to help forestall voltage inducement in an adjacent wire.

Yeah, I knew it could really go anywhere, but it's nice to keep it where it "supposed" to be. Thanks for all help guys.
