Technical Olds starter relocation with Caddy lower bell

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Nailhead Jason, Jan 23, 2020.

  1. Just to update I contacted @offynorth on instagram and inquired about the olds change over. He made some calls and I just took delivery of a brand new olds starter changeover shipped directly from Offy. I don’t know if these are readily available now or what but it looks like they are available from Offenhauser again!!! 10FBFC50-5D19-4C3A-BE69-AD009EA0B872.jpeg 038F1042-342E-4C5A-96B2-F8FF2108AB05.jpeg 10FBFC50-5D19-4C3A-BE69-AD009EA0B872.jpeg 038F1042-342E-4C5A-96B2-F8FF2108AB05.jpeg

  3. I believe you can use the factory olds starter or a same vintage caddy starter

    They didn't give specifics?
Suprised they don't advise what to use with their product.

  5. This is the very first one they have sent out. Future ones I’m sure will have paperwork.

They were always made to use the olds starter but you put it in upside down from how it was on the drivers side. That puts the solenoid down towards the ground. The caddy starter just puts the solenoid to the top as caddies had it on this side from the factory.
