I'd like to fabricate a dual carb intake for my 48 Olds straight 8. The factory intake is bolted to the exhaust manifold and they have common mounting studs - 8 or 10 in total. Most of the studs are at the exhaust ports. So it seems like I have to drill separate holes at the intake ports to mount the custom manifold.

Does anybody know if this can be done without drilling into water passages?

shoot abomber30 a PM. He ran a 3x1 intake on the Olds straight 8 in his Search & Destroy bucket... although I think 2 of the carbs were dummies.

Modify your stock manifold by adding a coupe new carb flanges which vendors sell, Speedway, I think.
