olds trans need the shifter!

    i have a 1957-1958 olds trans and i need a shifter for it. anyone has one?? ( the trans has one shifter tab and a small tab for rev>) seamus
     
  2. are you sure that little tab isn't the throttle pressure linkage?

    If it's a standard transmission, no one has made floor shift conversions for them for many years. Punch in "selector trans" and you'll find a couple helpful threads.

    Dragfast and Ansen made shifters for these transmissions.
    They didn't grow on trees back then, and time hasn't made them any more plentiful.

    The big arm is the gear selector. The small arm is the first /reverse, second / third, rail selector. Shifters for these "one arm bandits have become scarce as hens teeth. Why not post in the HAMB Wanted Classifieds?
     
  7. Lots of info on these fromprevious threads. F&J has been playing with them for a while but I do not knowif he ever gotone built. You could check with him.
