  2. He weighs 215lbs. The mother was full Saint Bernard and the father was the neighbors big black dog. When Joyce brought him home I was a not 100% for the dog. Now she thinks I love him more than her. The grandson says he is a human in a dogs costume. The dog moans and groans, snores and sleeps on his back.

    I like your Woodie.

That dog don't hunt pal. You can't sit back, and call every member who uses non chevy pans on his SBC a POSER, and then act offended when I say you're clueless for not understanding why.

Of course if you don't understand the veracity of the first argument, I certainly don't expect you to get this one either, so I suppose I'm actually the fool here for wasting my time to type it out.

Once again, as others have already said. Nobody is trying to pass their SBC off as some other engine. It's about style, personal taste, and building it how you like it, with the parts you have available. I think the Oldsmobile hubcaps on a non oldsmobile is the best analogy... go re read that post.

It's the basic tenent of hotrodding: Modify your car for increased performance, and visual appeal.

I'm of the belief that those Olds covers are better looking than any currently available centerbolt chevy cover. It has nothing to do with being ashamed of, or trying to pass off your SBC as something it's not.
