New to this forum. Have a 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 4 door sedan. This was my car in my younger days. Want to restore it, and was wondering if a 1957 Oldsmobile 371 cu in engine will bolt up to the 1955 Oldsmobile
Hydramatic transmission, and are the motor mounts the same.

Sounds like you got a nice car there, post some pics, if you can.
As far as the 371 bolting to the hydramatic, i would say yes, but:
It will bolt to the bellhousing, but the ****** input shaft will not fit into the crank unless you use a spacer/bushing.
Judging by my 56 Olds, you should be able to flip the rear motor mounts around to make them work with the hydramatic. At least thats's what my manual shows.

I'm sure there are other people with more experience then me, that'll chime in.

371's are externally balanced as well.... So you must make sure everything is proper...
