Oldtime Pinstriping? Or What?

Brought home this lid a while back. Can anyone ID the year its from? How about the pinstripe job! Goes well with the bullet holes.I'm guessing late 30s, early 40s sedan?

The hinges and general shape say it is from a humpback sedan. No idea what make but guess would be late 30's for year.
