Kirk and I have been slowly but surely tuning on the all might Kaiser Six-banger to get it goin' good. Today was the day. We plugged in the vacuum advance on the dizzy (won't rev much without it, duh), double ear-checked the timing and I madea few hot laps around the Hanning Compound. Figured out that the 'ol Rambler T35 trans likes to be shifted manually even though it's an auto. Get er rollin' about 25-2700 rpm, give it hell and shift into 2nd round about 5500. Hang on....we're in a left turn and the trees are comin' fast. Holy ****....that left front tire is off the ground......The Beater is pullin' hard and have to let off as it heads for the road at prolly close to 60 mph. Kirk does have pics and they'll get posted later....daylight under the tire, dirt flyin' everywhere....you'll see it all.
Oh yeah, I really learned the value of the Firestone Knobbies from Coker. When they grab the turf, find somethin' to hang on to cuz it's gonna go.
BTW....I'm not gonna be 'SixBangerPete'. Got a rear engine idea for the Flathead that should be fun.

Pete, just make darn sure the cable on the old T-35 is connected and adjusted properly! If not you'll burn the little thing up. It's not a kick down cable, it's a TV (throttle valve) cable! The Rambler books say to make sure it's loose and will push and pull easily holding with the tips of two fingers. It should push IN as the throttle is opened, so it's pulled out at idle. Adjust to a loose pin fit, then lengthen the cable two turns. You can go another full turn longer for a little harder shifting, but that's about it. Any more an it won't shift out of second when you're on the floor -- ever! No need to ask how I know... I burnt one up that had a sticking cable too. I check all those now!!

Ran like a champ to the show...not so much home. Gotta do some more fine tuning. Jenny says it sounds like an airplane when it's really goin'.
Oh yeah....needs exhaust bad....less noise and more low end torque is a must.

Almost...it's really a 232 AMC but....it all began with a small company called Overland. They becam Willys in the 30's. Willys was taken over by a mysterious company that made a utility type vehicle called Jeep. Some Jeeps ran Kaiser engines Jeep eventually became AMC, parent to the Gremlin. See, it really is a Kaiser but not really.
Btw....ever hear about Barney Navarro's Indy I6 AMC engine?

  22. Them are some pretty wide open spaces for Flint... it's looking more like the "D" everyday. ;)

    Sweet ride, man. Sweet ride.

Kaiser made an OHC 6. It went to Brazil after serving here in big Jeeps.

Continental made an OHV 6 for the Checker.
