? on 8-71 blower

    was wondering if anyone knows how to set the carbs on a 8-71 blower 525cfm demon carbs on a sbc w/brodix heads....any help would be great

    Tell me more about teh combination....but I bet those 525s are going to be waaaaay too small for anything with an 8-71.

    I run two 750 Carters on my 400 inch Pontiac/6-71 powered street car and they have about the biggest jets you can find in all 8 holes.

    The best way to tune your combination is an afternoon with your local ch***is dyno. Take your timing light, a bunch of jets and some tools. The shop will have a printout of your air/fuel mixture during the run, use it to dial in your combination for teh best air/fuel ratio and power, but don't freak about the power #s.

    Remember, lean is not your friend. Backfire is to be avoided. If the carbs have the boost referenced power valves it will be better on the street.

    As daBone said the 525's won't be the best carbs, if you have the dough get Holley, Quickfuel or APD carbs specially tuned for blower applications.
