DeuceRails a man with a plan...On talking about the many O/T posts and where have all the Old Hambers gone... [ QUOTE ] Well, rather than bitch about it, I'm going to make a positive suggestion. I say we focus on the Tech O'Matic. Let's bring back some old stuff, like the old posts on engine turning, or vacuum gauge reading. Let's archive the recent Roothawg cam degreeing post. The Tech O'Matic should be a little bit like the HAMB Hall of Fame. If you've made it there, that means that you've either asked a really good question, or that you've supplied some really goood advice. And all posts on the HAMB should strive to be of Tech O'Matic quality. [/ QUOTE ] I'd like to find out about bolts. I'd like to know what grade bolts are by the markings, what bolt should I use for brakes, suspension etc. And what happens when I use dis-similar materials, like using a stainless steel bolt threaded into an aluminum plate. Does anyone have or know of a website on this?
Highly recommended - Carroll Smith's book titled "Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook. It lays out and 'splains it all. In my opinion, one of those - you oughta have this book - books that all hot rodders need in their library.
