I have a limited number of these, so I only sell one every few years... They are heavy fiberglass resin reinforced with nylon threads. You must drill your own hole and epoxy in your own insert to use it as a shifter. Or you can just put it on a shelf. The story that goes with this is the Don "One Eye" Steuernagel, former applejack runner from Fife, WA. (he went to HS with Art Morrison) found a carved wooden finger in the late 50's and put it on the top of his tall shift handle in his t-bucket... Soon after the installation, he was arrested for public obscenity. Seems he was driving along and an easily offended old lady pulled up behind him, and called the police. Flash forward to about 10 years ago, just prior to his death, he made a mold from his shift knob and made about 20 copies. this is one of the copies. After a stint in the Air Force (the local police suggested he join the service after being caught stealing VW wheels one too many times) (where he met Steve Stanford) Don eventually moved to S. California and opened Dad's garage and worked on some of the cars used in the "Dukes of Hazzard" TV Series and on "Cannonball Run 2" and "Stroke Ace". He moved to Florida... I don't know when, but he brought his '61 Corvair Rampside with him and I met him about 1989 when I joined the Corvair club. We were close friends until he died about 8 years ago. You might not see another one of these for a while, and it comes with the above story... plus the one I wrote in the post about One Eye's applejack running days that keeps popping up every few months. $30 + shipping from 33771
