Heck yeah!!! I always like to meet more car guys. The season is about over, but there are some decent shows here. The power tour has come through a couple of times.

Tried out asomr 17" bullet mustang rims today. They lookd rad but were too wide and rubbed on the hairpins.

The tail lights look great! I'm personally glad the 17's didn't fit!

Yeah you are probably right, but I think I am going to have some rear fender rubbing issues, so I was hoping the car offset would help, and a little wider tire would have been nice too. But you can't go wrong with the ss

As usualy, I should have listened to you guys, so after a freebee cracked block and a craigslist screw up.... I ordered a BRAND NEW crate motor!!! It's just the goodwrench 350 260hp, but we can always do better from here. I also got a new air gap intake, carb and distributor. Stoked!!!

Got the intake on and the balancer. Was kind of disappointed in the air gap intake. I had to pull the valve covers off, which I didn't want to do, and then after I got the intake on, the valve covers won't fit! So I had to go get some extra thick gaskets (felpro 1604) for $33 and hopefully they will lift the valve covers up high enough to fit over the intake runners. Just figured that Edelbrock's flagship intake would have fit better, or they would have warned you that you would need different gaskets! Oh yeah, and in case you are wondering, a 350 intake manifold will bolt up if you put it on backward....whoops!

Looking great! You will be happy with your decision to buy a new motor. Its not like it takes a ton of horse power to motivate a car that light!

I got some "surplus" stainless screen out of the dumpster at work. It wasn't quite wide enough, so I used two pieces and left a gap in the middle. Looks pretty good I think. Glued it on there with silicone..... prob should have used some sort of epoxy..... We'll see how it work!

Yeah Jim, I was hoping to get away with just a gap, but I think a piece of stainless would look better.

Stainless screen looks pretty good, but you may have a problem with the cooling. It's surprising how much air flow is lost through a piece of screening.
    Love the color. Awesome job!

Thanks greaser, yeah we have had this issue with some of these screens at work, and this is the best one we have. We'll give it a try, and if it starts running hot, I'll take it out and start saving or getting creative on getting an original style. I appreciate it!

  27. Good luck! The instructions for the one I wired up had every wire labeled wrong. Ended up having to completely redo it.

So the cheap blinker / turn signal switch I bought uses a 3 prong flasher and the rebel harness 9+3 I have has a 2 prong flasher built in. This is what Bob from rebel e-mailed me, just incase you ever have the same issue.

You can use the 2 prong flasher for that switch. What you have to do is: in the switch diagram you should have a wire labeled P terminal and L terminal for pilot and load. Put both of these wires together, and they will go to either our purple turn flasher wire, or our brown hazard wire. The reason is those switches don't have enough power leads into them, so you have to decide if you want to have turn signals hot all the time, or hot off of the switch. If you want them hot off the switch, then wire both of the wires to our purple wire, if you want them hot all of the time, wire both of them to our brown hazard wire.

Some of the switches with the indicator light in the end of the switch, the bulb will light all of the time and most guys pull out that bulb and run dash indicators. If you have any trouble with it, let us know and we'll get you through it.
