Shoot man.... thanks, but you haven't stood very close to it...... but hey, it's going to be a driver. If your wife is anything like mine, things get backed into sometimes...

I have read about that, and it sounds good.

I mocked up the rear fenders and they are just rubbing on the sidewall a little. I think I am going to split the rear fenders and splice in a 1/2" to 1" filler piece. Hopefully it won't look to 1980's awesome!!!

I do like it without the fenders... but we had a t-bucket growing up, and it was cool and all.. but I think a full fendered car with a top would be more practical... and that's the way Daddy-O want it!

But thanks for the info.. I appriciate it.

Put the motor and transmission in it... I want to run the M/T valve covers I have so I'm going to have to trim back the fire wall a little more.

Ground about 1/4" to 1/2" of bondo out of my deck lid. It weighed about 50 lbs or more. I have no idea what happened to this, or how you make it look like this, but it looks like someone beat it with a bat!!!! And somone drilled a ton of holes in it to try and pull some dents out. I'm going to split the skin and see if I can dolly it out some.

Yeah I've thought about it.... a lot!!! We'll see how well it flattens out. Even if I can get away with a skim coat of bondo, I'll be cool with that...

I picked up a 32 grill shell from the Springfield swapmeet last year, it's going to look pretty sweet.

Steve from Limeworks hooked me up with a SWEET stainless steering column.

I picked up the set of pedals from a swapmeet last year. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to make it all fit.

Don't worry.... not going to be using the 2X4's and rope as a perminate instal ;)

I picked up an HEI off of craigslist for $35.00. The guy said it had a new coil and modual in it.

But now I can start getting my firewall all layed out.

I built a cardboard template of what I wanted, transfered it to sheet metal, then tried to bend it between the slats in my work table, but it didn't woork so great.

I then cut up the bent mess into tons of little puzzle pieces and started tacking it all together.

I'm reusing the setion I cut off the fire wall, but I had to rewort the drives side to clear my pedals.

it might be worth a shot buying one of those shrinking disc's for a grinder, to work those dents out on the trunk lid.

Well.... It is cool... but it ****s too.... I got a text from my dad today and he said that he had bought a model a!!!!

I guess this was my fault. I had told him about the model a I was building, but I never told him it was for him.... I wanted it to be a supprise.. So I guess he went ahead and got himself one.

He met a guy who need some money pretty bad, so he went ahead and got it for a great price.

Oh well.... I'm going to finish the coupe... and we'll see!!!!

As for progress on the car.... Tyring not to blow myself to pieces, I cut the bottom out of my gas tank.

I have been letting it sit with water in it for about a month, changing the water every couple of days.

Then I pumped it full of water with the hose and let it run as I drilled tons of holes in the bottom, thinking the exposion would have more places to go.....

Then I used my saws all to cut out the bottom, (less sparks).

It tunred out pretty good and no one died, and now I have lots of room for my wiring and master cylinders.

One of my drip rails was pretty screwed up, so I bent a new one out of sheet metal and spliced it in. It turned out pretty good.
