Got the dash in and the door handles back on. Trying to knock out something each night. Tonight I stacked up some washers to space the body off the frame. the wood blocks weren't fitting right.

We also went to the beach and to see my dad...aka daddy-o....aka.....papaw! Jim you were askin for some more pics of my dad's hot rod, so here you go. He and a buddy put some interior in it and he swapped out the powerglide for a turbo 350. It's a pretty sweet ride, but has drums all the way around and doesn't stop so well....

Yeah.... it was so tempting!!! everybody at work and friends keep giving me a hard time about not chopping it. but my dad didn't want me to, and now I'm real glad I didn't. I figure I can always chop it..... it is a little harder to unchop it!

Man I just hope I'm having as much fun as he does at his age. It is kind of like Cheers everywhere we go with him. He flirts with all the bank tellers and cashier ladies and they all know him by name. He always asks my wife " if she is ready for that older man in her life yet?" It always embarr***es the heck out of me, but he and everybody always have a great time around him. I meet people all the time from his past, and they tell me stories about how he nailed his buddy's wooden leg to a roof one time "so he wouldn't slip off" Or how on the last day of his job at the railroad, he climbed way up in the rafters and wired his uniform up there to blow in the breeze. It stayed there for years and bird built nests in the pockets. I have never met someone from his past that ever had a bad thing to say about him, and didn't thank that he was there best friend. I know that he truly is my best friend.

Tomorrow is his birthday, 69 years old.... but yeah still thinks he is 20 :)

Hey man I appreciate it!!! Man just spend as much time as you possibly can with him, and that will be the best gift he will ever get!

Ordered some gauges from jegs and am still running my old speedo for now. I made a gauge panel out of an old stamped sheet I think I pulled off my 1960's dishwasher. RTV'd it in place, hope it holds up!

Yeah Jim, I think it is a french company, but I think they have american lines too. I don't know if you can just order the stuff or if you have to order tons of it. One of my bosses ended up with a stack of this stuff and gave me a couple of sheets. It is like a foam material with a self adhesive side and a rubber side. It's real good for sound and pretty good for temperature.... and a whole lot cheaper (free) than dynomat. I'll let you know how it turns out!
