Thass the one I was tryin' to esplain and send a pic of!! Here's another shot of it... I wonder if the cat that owns it knows how cool he is for building that... Sam.
I cut a pic of it apart and came up with this: Not that it is an improvement... but the tall tank screws with my mind. Neat bike fo sheezy... FWIW, it is an original swing arm pre unit because the center down tube goes behind the trans... I learned that by hanging down at the Triumph shop. I also dig his "fake hot rod influence"... I learned about that from one of my followers. Sam.
Here's a Pre-unit that came from the factory with a rigid rear frame... notice the placement of the down tube. The frame I have is like the orange one's... I cut the rear swing arm and lower rails apart to make my own bolt on rear section... I'll post pics when it looks like sumptin'. Sam.
I don't think he's elling anything that is bobber related, BurndupCRX... chopper related maybe... but not bobber related... I can see Hatch's e-bay auction now... "get them while they are hot! Triumph chopper parts CHEAP!!" Sam.
EXCUSE me, I meant the harley flathead. His reminds me of this, which gets referred to as a bobber... formerly owned by Steve McQeen...

Hatch, I'll be over tomorrow and bring my construction equipment. You are going to need an addition on the old barn if you keep collecting those things. Of course I could always bring the 45 home for safe keeping. hehe!!! Frank
Frank, You take the 45 and I'll take the roadster. That way hatch will have lots a room for his new stuff
Burndup...I go with the traditional bobber idea...here's Sonny Barger in 1957...on a bobber...Rip off the shit you don't need and go raise hell....sorta like the early "Hot Rods"
Chopper....and a tasty one too!!!!(gotta lose the front fender though)....certainly nothing wrong wit this style. I would call the orange one a custom....sorta fits in between.
Chopper v Bobber - here's my opinion: If you cut the frame to change the geometry of the front end, it's a chopper, if the frame is stock (ish) AND you're going minimalist, it's a bobber. Either way, I call them fun (but I'm partial to bobber/custom style)...
It's getting almost impossible to define the different styles of bikes and cars....but cool is always cool....horrible is always horrible.
Does anyone here know where to pick up a hardtail rear for an OIF frame? I've seen ones for the earlier bikes. Thanks, Dan
Dan... jim Bernier (www.berniervintage.com) has some hardtails for OIF's. They are strictly weld on. Hatch - that orange bike rocks! I cant believe someone got over 6k for an OIF'er on ebay!!!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ] In a few weeks I'll have to send some pics of the hardtail Beezer frame I'm building to put a OIF Trump 650 in. Want to keep the OIF complete in case I ever want to restore, so figured use the spare Beezer frame to make a cool hardtail bobber.
Yeah, I watched that OIF bike auction end on ebay last night. It is a pretty damn nice bike...but $6700? The same dude that sold that one sold a very similar '66 a couple weeks ago for $5250. I guess the market might be going up for finished trumps. Anyone have any more pics of that pale blue pre-unit with the chrome frame that Sam posted? I've never seen that one before...I like it!
Sam here are some shots of the one that got me addicted.... I will build one like it someday. (I dont know if I ever posted these before) I missed this bike by one day.
